Lab Mission

As mentioned in our mission statement, we strive to create an inclusive environment where all lab members feel valued and are able to thrive. We believe a diverse workforce is critical for generating novel, creative and innovative ideas and approaches to tackle complex questions.

In line with these goals we pledge to:

· Actively recruit individuals from historically excluded and underrepresented groups into the lab at all training levels

· Seek funding to support activities that increase diversity and inclusion efforts in the lab (Grants, fellowships and other mechanisms)

· Have regular conversations about systemic racism and implicit bias in science

· Encourage, organize and participate in outreach activities in the local community such as Brain Awareness Week

· Share educational resources about diversity and inclusion

· Participate in events that promote diversity and inclusion locally and at scientific conferences
